For most people, wrestling is escapism. As the world burns more than ever before, both metaphorically and due to climate change, the public seeks refuge from the daily horrors of the world, using whatever hobby or form of entertainment they can use to distract themselves. If WWE is your hobby of choice, there is simply no getting away from the horror of modern politics.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are treated like WWE could not operate without them, as they are regularly seen at the White House and are part of President Trump's regime. Linda McMahon is very literally part of his operation, and even the UFC's recent event at the White House was attended by multiple members of the WWE roster.

Removing Trump from the WWE Hall of Fame would also feel like a political stance. Politics having no part in wrestling feels like an achievable goal, but WWE has insisted on aligning itself with divisive politics. It is simply no longer a place that fans can switch off from the constant barrage of atrocities in the current affairs landscape. And if you ain't down with that, WWE has two words for ya.
