7. Bayley Advances But Everyone Shines

Admittedly, yours truly still isn't sold on how useful this Women's United States Title will be, but Bayley vs. Candice LeRae vs. B-FAB was a zippy, fun watch that felt way more energetic than last week's singles effort between Bayley and LeRae. They went through the motions a little too much with that one. Here? Everyone got to shine in-ring, and B-FAB looked the best she ever has inside a WWE ring.

Bayley was always winning and everyone knew it, but the trio did a good job of chucking in some good near falls to add a shred of doubt. One small package in particular from FAB to Candice seemed to trick the live audience. They thought for a split second that Triple H might spring a surprise and continue hammering away at the idea Bayley has been struggling to regain her mojo since dropping the Women's Title to Nia Jax.

'The Game' resisted that urge and stuck with Bayley as the obvious (albeit deserved) winner. This was one of the babyface's better bouts since winning the title at WrestleMania and splitting from Damage CTRL. She looked comfortable in the role of ring general, which naturally helped B-FAB concentrate on a few carefully curated spots designed to help her make a splash with fans.

WWE will showcase a lot more of these first round three-ways on TV in coming weeks, so the format could get a little stale come the last couple. This was a promising start for the tournament though. Michael Cole and Corey Graves did well to put across how important being the first titleholder could be too.
