7 Ups & 1 Down From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Mar 27)

Downs...

1. Why Though?

Dolph Ziggler Tyler Breeze

This squash match was the only thing that didn't quite work on SmackDown. Ziggler and Breeze worked for around about two minutes, with 'The Show-Off' predictably going over. The outcome gives him a smidgen of momentum heading into the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and a dash of heat with Breezango (he superkicked Fandango afterwards), but such inconsequential "benefits" don't justify its inclusion on the card.

The Andre trophy is always treated like an afterthought. It's just a big ol' clusterf*** featuring every neglected, broken toy on the roster, and trying to heat Ziggler up two weeks in advance won't change that. A potential feud between him and Breezango seems pointless, too: the Fashion Files have ran their course, and the duo are enhancement talents once more.

We can't complain vigorously about a segment lasting less than five minutes in total, but we can't ignore its flaws either. This felt like filler, and gave viewers no reason to believe WWE are actually taking the Andre seriously this year, or that winning it will mean anything.
