7 Ups & 1 Down From WWE SmackDown (May 1)

2. Sonya Deville's Attack

2020, empty arena Sonya Deville is the best version WWE has presented since the former MMA heel made her debut on the main roster almost three years ago. She's coming into her own as a bitter sort who can't stomach the thought that Mandy Rose has moved on, and it's quite the experience to watch her grow.

Sonya cut another great speech on SmackDown, one which would've been even better had Cole and Graves not decided to speak over it. Lord only knows what they were thinking there; the pair are surely too experienced to be spoiling good character work with senseless soundbites.

At least Deville got to add a physical complement to her verbal assault by blasting Mandy with a sweet-looking Shining Wizard to the head by the steel steps. Afterwards, she promised to ruin Rose's life. This was more good stuff from these two - they're having one of the most encouraging feuds in WWE right now.

Long may it continue.
