7 Ups & 1 Down From WWE SmackDown (May 1)
3. Story Time With Bray Wyatt
Sit down with your old uncle Bray for a little night night story.
Wyatt's 'Firefly Fun House' interruption during Braun Strowman's going-nowhere promo (talking at length is not the Universal Champion's core strength) was way better than any follow-up recap video to last week's attempt would've been. This was exactly what it needed to be.
Bray, who is perpetually menacing and has mastered flitting between childlike humour and terrifying intensity, kept things short(-ish), ran through Braun's entire history with The Wyatt Family and cleverly wrapped it all in a children's story called 'The Black Sheep'. He is money when he gets going like this.
Strowman should be credited for staring down at the Universal Title like he might lose it. This rivalry would be useless if he didn't sell Wyatt's threat, or hint that Bray was doing everything to get inside his head before Money In The Bank.
