7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Jul 21)

Ups...

7. Best Friends vs. Brady Pierce and Sabby

Trent Sabby
AEW

A match worth watching out of curiosity more than anything else, this felt like a tryout for Tino 'Sabby' Sabbatelli, who hasn't wrestled since tearing his pectoral muscle while working for WWE in April 2018.

Best Friends gave Sabby and Brady Pierce a boatload here. It was a lot more competitive than the average Dark match and largely fine, albeit lacking in excitement. Pierce and Sabby play similar d*ckhead characters and meshed reasonably well so perhaps AEW will use them as a tag team again in the future.

Brady took the fall, eating a Strong Zero after Sabby had been wiped out on the outside.

Though never exactly the best pure wrestler in the world, Sabby comes with a great look, a bit of charisma, and has a little name value from his time in the NFL. It'll be interesting to see if AEW decides he has something to offer going forward.
