7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite: Big Business (Results & Review)

Ups...

7. A Few Quick Notes

AEW Dynamite Big Business Mercedes Moné
AEW

In a good production touch, AEW Dynamite: Big Business began with an external shot of the TD Garden in Boston. It's a small thing, but presenting the show as emanating from a big, historic venue in a famous metropolis made AEW feel big time. Then, an extravagantly priced Mercedes-Benz rolled into the arena. AEW made the occasion and the star feel enormous.

Also, while the match itself failed to deliver, it was another clever touch to build Joe Vs. Wardlow with a video package. Adam Cole, in "story time", narrated Wardlow's character arc in a pre-tape. The idea was to set the match apart as a big deal, a gift on free television, something potentially momentous.

Ultimately, the spectacle and drama of the match was not enhanced - but AEW should absolutely do more in this vein the next time a World title match is booked on TV.
