7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Dec 7 - Review)
3. Yes, They're Listening
Jon Moxley took the microphone in the post-match and, as the blessed man always does, articulated the emotions of the fandom.
With as much apathy as a lot of the AEW public, he deadpanned his absolute boredom over the ongoing pro wrestling versus sports entertainment programme without undermining his beloved philosophy. His tone was perfect here; while bored sh*tless of the feud, he will never get bored of pro wrestling because he lives and breathes for it. He also said something that those fans have been dying to hear for months now: at Final Battle, the war between the JAS and BCC will come to an end.
Of course, it would be far better if the programme had actually raced to an electrifying conclusion, but the reality is that it hasn't, and Mox, because he's still the best babyface in wrestling, had no interest in patronising his people.
Excitement is a far better emotion with which to sell a pay-per-view than relief, obviously, but this realistic hype-job was vastly preferable to pretending that the feud is still hot.
