7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash (21 Dec - Review)

Ups...

7. The Book Of Hobbs' Final Chapter

Powerhouse Hobbs
AEW

Short and sweet was the Book of Hobbs' final chapter, which saw Powerhouse drag through memories of being three years old and watching his uncle overdose, getting robbed and stabbed as a child, and worse. These experiences, he said, created the monster he is today.

While perhaps these vignettes could have used more meat on the bones, they have succeeded in establishing a new character direction for Hobbs following his Ricky Starks rivalry and failed TNT/ROH TV Title challenge. Rising stars too often disappear from AEW television just as they are starting to get hot. With Hobbs and Ricky, AEW isn't making those mistakes.

And Powerhouse will return to television as strong as ever.
