7. A Quite Fun Eight-Woman Tag
In the second of two eight-man tags dedicated to the memory of the great Mr. Brodie Lee, Anna Jay, Thunder Rosa, Willow Nightingale, and Kris Statlander defeated Saraya, Ruby Soho, Julia Hart and Skye Blue when - touchingly, appropriately - Anna put Blue away with the Queenslayer.
It doesn't feel great pointing out a minor flaw in a tribute match, but Julia Hart, TBS champion, momentarily forgot she wasn't babyface when she joined the wrong side of the big stereo suplex spot deep into the match. Elsewhere, this was a fun enough party match, although it was a shade inferior to the one promoted earlier in the night. It was also a bit too similar to that match, what with the near-identical pounce spot. Then again, it's always nice watching Willow, who drew a pop with her version of that move, in any context.
Thunder Rosa looked sharp, which was good to see. The whole thing in fact was engineered for a nice, "You love to see it" reaction. It was a fun, knockabout turn-taking multi-man with minimal depth to it, but it broke down well. Every performer was on song timing-wise and in a position to play their role in that sequence, which was quite exciting.
Low-stakes fun, but it actually mattered: Anna Jay gets a shot at Julia Hart on the back of her win.
