7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (January 17 - Results & Review)

6. Toni Storm Is Back On Form

While the one women's match of the week was misjudged structurally, and a bit slow in execution, the post-match was amusing.

Toni Storm again provided colour commentary duties, and was on decent form, after which Deonna grabbed a microphone and wondered aloud what had happened to somebody she used to consider a sister. Storm refused to answer this plea to re-enter reality and instead mocked Donna's fake tan. Storm also - and this was vulgar but brilliant - said "I ought to march into that ring and sock you in the box!"

Storm has an absolutely incredible knack for exhuming very funny words that have rarely been uttered on North American wrestling television, conjuring delightful mental images, and it's in character. She is meant to be a saucy and outrageous old Hollywood dame.

This moment, however small, was prime Dynamite vibe - it was legitimately funny, and the anti-synthetic appeal of old surfaced when Renee almost lost it and had to compose herself.
