7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (June 12 - Results & Review)
Ups...
7. Decent Enough Start To The Show
Before he was interrupted by the Elite - and before they were interrupted by new onscreen authority figure Christopher Daniels - Swerve Strickland opened the show.
He put over Will Ospreay, but claimed his upcoming opponent lacked his killer instinct. The Elite then announced that they'd take on AEW's best in an upcoming Blood and Guts match. Matthew Jackson then asked Swerve if he wished to join them in changing the world, offering a pair of their signature, sold-out Rebooks to sweeten the deal. Swerve, who seems destined for the cage match, refused. He doesn't wear size nines (if this went over your head, Swerve was suggesting here that he has a fat cack).
Seething, the Elite threatened to beat up Swerve four-on-one before the Acclaimed rushed the ring for the save.
It was at this point that Daniels ordered everybody away from ringside because they were getting in the way of the scheduled action.
This was the opposite of an impromptu match, and therefore a ******* segment.
