7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jul 21)

1. Ace Down A Hole

At the conclusion of Slammiversary, Ace Austin and Madman Fulton were blindsided at the hands of The Good Brothers, with Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson laying out the former X Division Champion with a Magic Killer. It was a great way to debut Gallows and Anderson, going straight after two of the more prominent names in Impact.

The fact they then did the exact same thing on this episode does quite a bit of harm to Ace and Madman.

You can always argue that the former Bullet Club members need to get one over on someone to immediately cement themselves as top guys in the company, but is there really a need for such a thing? They're already two of the bigger names in the promotion fresh out of their no-compete clauses. Having them once again get one over on 'The One True Ace' was an unfortunate sight.

Even though Ace would then realign with Reno Scum later in the show to have Adam Thornstowe and Luster The Legend ambush The Good Brothers outside the building, it didn't matter. Ace had still been the victim of some horrendous booking for the second show in a row, plus Reno Scum were the ones left laying at the end of the assault. Talk about putting Gallows and Anderson over strong.
