7 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Apr 24)

2. His Hand Goes Up...

The Miz

Of course Miz TV was great.

Expecting anything less of 'The A-Lister' would be foolish at this point, and while the segment was more about Big Cass than Miz himself, the host was fantastic. He spoke on his upcoming Intercontinental Title shot first, then broached the inevitable: Daniel Bryan.

Cass' interruption prevented Miz from going into too much detail, but he suggested that Bryan still harboured a grudge from their Talking Smack days, then got personal. He veered into babyface territory, noting that his newborn daughter makes him want to be a better man, before going villainous once more, suggesting that Bryan and his offspring, Birdie, don't share the same bond. This should have drawn Daniel out, but alas, some cheeky scamp had attacked him backstage.

WWE are doing the right thing in holding off on Miz vs. Bryan. As a potential WrestleMania main event, it's something most are hungering for, but blowing it on a lowly B-level pay-per-view would be a waste. The company gave us a sliver this week, but not a full course. Providing they can keep this up without losing steam over the coming weeks and months, the inevitable explosion is going to be even bigger, and we can't wait to see how it pans out.
