7 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 10)

Downs...

2. Another Unexplained Cancellation

Samoa Joe

WWE had advertised a singles match between Tye Dillinger and Samoa Joe prior to last night's SmackDown, but pulled it without warning. This, in itself, isn't a massive problem. It would've likely been a single-digit squash to put Joe over ahead of his expected main event push through SummerSlam and Hell in a Cell, leading to many a 'Perfect 10' fan bemoaning Dillinger's plight, but it's odd that this keeps happening.

No month passes without the company reneging on a couple of pre-booked SmackDown matches. Most recently, it happened with Andrade Almas vs. Sin Cara, which was originally put down to injury, though these rumours were quickly dismissed.

This is the most minor of quibbles, but a quibble nonetheless. Why keep throwing these matches out there only to pull them away when showtime comes? It's as if WWE are putting the episode together without accounting for timings, hitting show day, then realising they don't have enough room.
