This hasn't been a banner week for WWE PR by any stretch.

Much of that negativity stems from all those releases mid-week, but the sad passing of company legend Howard Finkel put things into perspective somewhat. Still, there's no doubting people lost their jobs during a tough, tough time, and corporate coldness has left a stain on WWE that might take a while to wash off.

The roster deserve credit then for producing one hell of an episode of SmackDown on Friday night. The blue brand's guys and gals pulled out some tricks and helped remind everyone that this promotion has some seriously good talent who only need a solid platform to work on.

Although there wasn't a bad match on this week's show, some of the booking (as usual) left a little to be desired. Things were positive on the whole however, and that might be seen as a minor blessing during a period that has most climbing the walls with boredom, worry or both.

Here are all the 'Ups' and 'Downs' from what was, quite literally, a 'Friday Night Delight'...
