7 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (Oct 21 - Results & Review)

1. Did That Really Make Sense?

The match itself was fun, but there was so much about Eddie Kingston vs. Jeff Jarrett that didn't really make all that much sense.

So, if Double J was victorious, Jay Lethal gets a shot at Kingston's ROH World Title? That in itself seems a bit daft, especially for a glory-seeking heel like Jarrett not wanting that title shot for himself. If anything, Jeff could be viewed as being the babyface willing to put himself through a war solely in order to benefit his friend.

Elsewhere, the Memphis Street Fight nature of this match meant Eddie was clearly setting himself up for being overwhelmed by the numbers game. Yes, in one regard, this plays into the Mad King's eagerness to fight, regardless of the odds, but it also makes Eddie look a bit idiotic - knowing full well that he's lining himself up to face Jarrett, Lethal, Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt, and even Karen Jarrett.

Also, is Eddie Kingston so disliked in the AEW locker room that nobody came out to help him in what was essentially a ten-minute decimation of the New Yorker? Story-wise, Penta El Zero Miedo has often been positioned as Eddie's best friend, and Kingston is likewise supposed to be pals with Rey Fenix. Then there's the literal Best Friends, who he teamed with at All In just two months ago, or either of Ortiz or Mike Santana.
