7 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dark (Jan 26)

2. TNT, No Dynamite

SCU SoCal Uncensored
AEW

SoCal Uncensored vs. Terrence and Terrell Hughes was too much. While it's clear from the layout that Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian wanted to give D-Von Dudley's sons a chance to shine, a dry-as-unbuttered-toast heat segment made these eight-and-a-half minutes feel like double that, with Daniels absorbing an extended beatdown before Kaz tagged in and evened it out.

TNT come across as potential-packed tandem with the strong fundamentals you'd expect, given their lineage. They're only 25 years old and it should be noted that they entered AEW following a two-year hiatus from the ring. This tempers the criticism, but the brothers Hughes would have still looked better in a shorter match more typical of the Dark format.
