7 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (1 Sep)

Ups...

7. Interview Economy

AEW's myriad 60-second backstage interviews don't usually make it into the Ups and Downs column, as we'd end up with a 20-entry article every week, but Britt Baker deserves extra props for cramming so many things into her window of opportunity last night.

Here's what she covered:-

1. Rebel and Jamie Hayter's participation in the Casino Battle Royale.

2. Negging Rebel by suggesting she doesn't have a chance of winning.

3. Insisting that Hayter would never turn on her, foreshadowing just that later down the line. Much later, most likely.

4. Teasing Adam Cole by saying a big-name free agent had signed a contract.

5. Revealing that "free agent" to be herself, breaking the news that she had inked a new deal.

6. Booking Kris Statlander vs. Rebel and Hayter for Rampage.

The handicap match is the only concern here, as there's no ideal outcome ahead of All Out (Hayter won't take the pin, but why put an L on her record so early on). Regardless, this was economical and well-delivered.
