7 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (1 Sep)

Darby Allin CM Punk
AEW

CM Punk finally got physical in AEW, delivering his first GTS on American wrestling television in over seven years to put Jeff Parker down while Sting hit a Scorpion Death Drop across the ring.

This was the biggest talking point coming out of a hot segment that began with another Punk victory lap promo. 2point0 and Daniel Garcia jumped him early, beating him down until Sting and Darby Allin made the save, with violence soon following.

Sting broke Darby and Punk's nose-to-nose after the bell. Happy to finally share a room with the returnee, he confirmed that he won't be ringside at All Out, content to let the wrestlers wrestle and stay out of the way. Here's hoping he locks 2point0 and Garcia in their locker rooms.

A simple angle executed well for a hot crowd, this broke up Punk's promo loop, gave the match some extra spice, and made perfect sense given Punk's existing beef with the invading heels.
