7 Ups & 3 Downs From UFC 247
6. Anytime, Any Place, Anywhere
It's pretty rare to see a fighter who lost make it into this section of our list, but how could we not give the upmost respect to James Krause after truly battling against the odds to even be in this match-up. In fact, he wasn't even supposed to be on the card in the first place.
Krause, who is also a highly-respected MMA coach, was at UFC 247 to corner one of his fighters. However, Antonio Arroyo was forced to pull out of his fight on the day of the weigh-ins. Desperate to keep the hometown hero on the card, the UFC asked Krause if he'd be willing to step-up and fight on 24-hours notice, without any training camp or tactical preparation. Oh, he also add to move up weight class too.
Most fighters would've scoffed at the offer placed in front of them, but Krause was more than willing to take on the challenge. While he didn't get the victory, he made sure that Giles had to leave every ounce of energy in the Octagon to defeat him. Win, lose or draw, this will go down in MMA folklore as a fantastic example of badassery.
