2. Still Not Feeling It
Odyssey Jones’ debut last week was a rousing success, coming to the aid of the New Day against the Final Testament and providing the duo with some much-needed backup… and apparently an undercurrent of drama.
Karrion Kross’ longstanding effort to sow distrust with Xavier Woods could be having an effect, as Woods doesn’t seem as thrilled about Kofi Kingston bringing Jones into the fold so quickly. The result Monday was a less-than-enthused Xavier standing alongside a hyped Kofi and Odyssey after Kingston challenged the Final Testament to a six-man tag match next week.
Predictability says that some miscommunication will occur between Jones and Woods, leading to distrust. Whether that will actually result in a breakup or just teased tension would be the open question.
But the real question(s) is: Does anyone really care? Does anyone really want to see this? New Day admittedly needs something to freshen up their act a bit, but a tease of discontent after a decade of being best friends probably isn’t what audiences are clamoring for.
