7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (18 April - Review)

2. Cody Gets Brock

Well, in a sense. Cody Rhodes desperately wanted to get his hands on Brock Lesnar Monday night, but security and Adam Pearce were hellbent on stopping that from happening.

Rhodes becoming unhinged at the prospect of getting to Lesnar was refreshing, as he’s been fairly composed during his WWE run, so seeing him losing it and beating up security was a different wrinkle. After all, this man lost the main event of WrestleMania, falling short in his quest to fulfill his father’s dream, and then immediately was blindsided by the Beast the night after Mania.

So yeah, Cody losing control and taking out security and lunging at Brock worked well here, and Lesnar heeling it up by refusing to oblige Rhodes was even better. It also gave Cody the ammo to call Brock a coward later, which is the kind of basic insult that only works because it was directed at Lesnar, a dangerous human being.

Cody will get his hands on Brock in a few weeks at Backlash, but this very simply painted the next chapter of the story, and it did the job.
