7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 17)

4. Preserving An Elias Turn

The easy thing to do Monday night would have been to trot Elias out there to a nice reaction, and then moments later have him insult the fans and turn heel – because Elias is usually better as an antagonizing heel than a suck-up babyface. (Now Ezekiel, that guy screamed babyface.)

But Elias kept it even-keel Monday night, even when Matt Riddle interrupted him and tried to join the act with his bongos. Elias appreciated having a huge fan in Riddle, so he politely asked him to sit and listen to the performance rather than getting riled up and turning on him.

However, you know we’ll get to a point sometime soon when Elias will get pissed about being interrupted or something not going his way, and he’ll turn on the fans or another superstar, and then that will lead to the boos showering down on him.

But it was nice to see them hold off, at least for one week.
