6. A More Serious Setting For Daniel Garcia

AEW Collision Claudio Castagnoli Daniel Garcia

Having fully embraced the world of sports entertainment during his time as part of the Jericho Appreciation Society, Daniel Garcia now finally seems to be veering back towards the world of professional wrestling.

Of course, having Claudio Castagnoli standing across the ring is always likely to result in something great, and that was indeed the case as Claudio and Garcia faced off in the Continental Classic. Sure, "the dance" was still prevalent - nicely transitioned to after mocking Castagnoli's taunt - but this was a more serious, focussed Daniel Garcia.

With Claudio clearly the larger, more powerful competitor, he nicely shut Garcia down at several points as the pair exchanged strikes or tried to outmanoeuvre one another. And on that front, Castagnoli, as per, landed some glorious European uppercuts and a stunning Sharpshooter before eventually getting the 1-2-3 with the Ricola Bomb.

Garcia may have lost here, but don't rule out a strong Continental Classic for the 25-year-old. While he's positioned as an underdog in this tournament, and while he's likely to not win the entire thing, some solid wins could and should allow Garcia to be reshaped as a more serious pro wrestler.
