7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Oct 6)

6. Jurassic Express vs. Eric Watts & Ray Rosas

Luchasaurus Eric Watts
AEW

This was more than the standard Dark pseudo squash it looked like it would be. Eric Watts got a lot in against Jurassic Express, who were very giving in their performances, allowing the newcomer to stand out in what may have been an audition for a bigger AEW gig.

The match benefitted for it. Watts stands at a legitimate 6'6" and looks a multi-dimensional wrestler, looking equally strong against Luchasaurus and the much smaller Jungle Boy. His hoss fight sequence was the big highlight here, as Watts shrugged off some apron blows before going strike-for-strike with Jurassic Express' ancient dad, though a Jungle Boy dive took him out for the finish. Rosas ate Jurassic Express' finisher for the fall.

Jurassic did a good job of elevating a guy we'll likely see more of on future episodes of Dark, though Watts' performance spoke for itself. It'd be great to see him back - and soon.
