7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Sep 15)

2. The Butcher and the Blade vs. Kevin Blackwood & Daniel Garcia

The booking here is interesting. All four wrestlers are based in the upstate New York area, with The Butcher and The Blade working the northeastern indie scene extensively before signing and Blackwood and Garcia regulars for groups like Beyond and ESW prior to the national shutdown. They likely know each other well, and who better to work in what was ostensibly a tryout match for Garcia and Blackwood than a couple of guys they are already familiar with?

Garcia is an especially interesting prospect, having delivered at a high level throughout 2019, particularly in his work with Brandon Thurston. Board his hype train immediately.

This was an excellent squash. Butcher and Blade tried to jump the younger tandem early but the enhancement guys caught fire, working hard and fast to stifle the full-timers. This came to an inevitable end. The Butcher and The Blade's heat segment followed until Garcia arrogantly hit a blind tag on Blackwood as his side mounted a comeback, thinking he could hang with the heels alone. Big mistake. The 21-year-old walked into a woodchipper, eating Full Death for a quick, painful loss.
