7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Sep 15)

2. Colt Cabana vs. QT Marshall

This was head and shoulders above the other Downs in terms of work quality, but undone by rampant overbooking.

The Dark Order watched Cabana from the stage. It was a must-win clash for Colt, who took the stable's losing pinfall at All Out, invoking Brodie Lee's rage. Again, decent storytelling, though Colt and Marshall were derailed by multiple distractions and interference spots, including the finishing sequence.

Evil Uno occupied the referee's attention, allowing Stu Grayson to blast Marshall. Colt then hit Lee's discus clothesline for the win. A convoluted, unsatisfying watch, and if the point was Cabana needing to score a victory, it would have been more effective to have him get it alone.
