7 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Backstage (Dec 17)

William Shatner Booker T

William Shatner had a History Channel show to plug on this week's edition of Backstage, but he wasn't particularly interesting or interested during a saccharine sit-down with Renee Young and Christian.

Christian was always considered a wrestler's wrestler thanks to his ability to carry any and all opponents to - at very least - something competent, and Young may well have captured that exact same magic as a host.

Here, she took a man doing the opposite of the improv "Yes, and..." game and dragged an interview kicking and screaming from him. A "Booyaka" joke was laboured on for such a long time that it almost became as bizarrely entertaining as one of Shatner's spoken word assides. Almost.

He certainly had no place taking the wrestlers "to school" in the next segment...
