7 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Aug 2)

1. Intergender Clash

The biggest Up this week has to be the intergender clash between Tessa Blanchard and Madman Fulton. Throughout the entire contest, the story being told was what we've been seeing from this Tessa story the whole time - she's resilient.

No matter what Fulton threw her way, Blanchard wasn't going down. She fought back with everything she had, angering Sami Callihan at ringside more and more each time. As she got in control of the match, that's when 'The Draw' grabbed a steel chair, and ordered Fulton to kill Tessa.

Tommy Dreamer came to the rescue but soon found himself in position for a chokeslam. A shot to the back courtesy of Tessa's kendo stick was enough for Sami to pull his monster out of the ring as they headed backstage to hand Tessa the victory via count out.

It might not have been the most exciting match ever, but it gave us a reminder that Tessa Blanchard has plenty fight inside of her, not that we needed reminding though. This rivalry has been rather decent for the most part and has helped elevate Tessa right to the top of the card, so we can only hope that continues for as long as it lasts.
