7 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Aug 2)

2. Tag Title Classic

While the X division will always be Impact's premier division, their tag team division is nothing to laugh about. That was evidenced clearly in the evening's main event as The North defended their World Tag Team Championships against Dez and Trey of The Rascalz.

Every second of this was excellent. It didn't matter if it was a member of The Rascalz performing a huge flip to ringside or one of The North downing their opposition with a power move; everything here made for a great match.

The most impressive spot of the match - and of the entire night - came when Josh Alexander performed a powerslam on both Dez and Trey at the same time, which included catching Dez out of mid-air as he went for a springboard moonsault. Both Alexander and Ethan Page would yank Trey off the ropes with a huge slam before downing him with a double Neutralizer to retain their titles.

In terms of the in-ring action, you can usually find some quality bouts from Impact. Even though the storylines may not always be that good, the matches themselves are often good enough to allow you to forget that fact. Lovely stuff all around here.
