7 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (23 Sept - Results & Review)

It's all about the YEET! Monsters continue path of destruction, and New Day woes grow.

If you own a pair of Yeet! foam hands, then WWE Raw was an absolute all-timer Monday night.

Rather than burying the lead, let's just put it out there: Raw’s main storyline through the entire show was Jey Uso’s pursuit of his first singles title in 14 years on the main roster. He’d been mocked, criticized, and denigrated for his lack of solo success, and it all came down to the main event against Bron Breakker.

Thankfully for him – and WWE – the match delivered what fans wanted, thus uplifting the entire show. Jey’s win provided fans with a feel-good moment to close out a good table-setting episode that saw another big feud between Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman booked for the following week, while the Women’s World Championship match at Bad Blood got a fairly interesting stipulation.

Sami Zayn and Gunther continued their dance around whether Sami will ever get a World Heavyweight Championship match, and the New Day’s growing problems took center-stage, threatening to boil over once again. The CM Punk/Drew McIntyre feud was the only major storyline that came off as lacking Monday night, and that one has had a pretty good hit rate of late, so that mostly gets a pass.

Bad Blood is shaping up to be a pretty strong show from the Raw side, and even next week’s episode already has some promise. For now, though, throw your hands up and let out a good, loud “Yeet!”

Let’s get to it…
