7 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (27 Nov - Results & Review)

DOWNS…

4. Just A Match

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven have been Women’s Tag Team Champions for more than three months. Monday night, they defended the titles for just the second time in a nondescript match that might as well have aired in its entirety during a commercial break.

That’s not to say anything bad about the champs or challengers Tegan Nox and Natalya, but without any real reason to care about the challengers or think they had a chance – Monday was only the second time they had tagged together – the match fell flat and played to a subdued crowd.

It’s good that the champs defended their titles, that they got TV time, and that they won cleanly. But simply throwing barely average matches on television isn’t necessarily enough to garner positive marks. If everyone is going to talk about WWE being on an upswing, fans and critics should expect better and hold the company to a higher standard.
