7 Ups & 4 Downs from WWE Raw (5 May - Results & Review)

6. Can We Just Promote Roxanne And Giulia?

There is a cynical argument that could be made that having Roxanne Perez lose to Iyo Sky does little to help the NXT upstart, but that would ignore that Sky is the reigning Women’s World Champion and should win a one-on-one matchup.

In reality, Perez hanging with Iyo and keeping the champ off-balance throughout their match was a good showing that put Roxanne on the map for WWE fans. It’s clear she and Giulia are on their way to the main roster – and really, WWE just needs to make it official rather than having them straddle the brands – so matches like Monday’s are good opportunities to introduce them to the audience.

Roxanne earned Iyo’s respect, which immediately was followed by Giulia attacking Sky and Perez joining in. This served to set up a tag match with Rhea Ripley joining Iyo to take on the NXT invaders. It’s borderline criminal that this will take place on Raw next week, but these four women could steal the show and elevate the two newcomers in one fell swoop.

Perez did good work here, and her and Giulia’s promotions are justified. WWE just needs to get on this rather than continuing this “both worlds” method.
