7 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (Mar 15)

6. Bad Bunny's First Match Edges Closer

Damian Priest squashing Jaxson Ryker in around 30 seconds ruled.

Ryker is a bland create-a-grappler whose only trait is forced intensity, while Priest is someone WWE have eyes on pushing soon. Thus, it was fitting for Priest to endure some early blows, turn the tide with a Falcon Arrow, then nail Hit the Lights for an easy win.

Elias jumped Priest and Bad Bunny afterwards, with Bunny actually throwing a convincing worked punch at the former Drifter before Damian put Elias down with Hit The Lights. This allowed John Morrison to pull the distraction so Miz could sneak up behind Bunny and clobber him with the discarded guitar, then flee from Priest.

WWE's continued use of Bad Bunny will split opinion for as long as he's on television, but this was effective. The rapper has looked fine in his limited physical spots so far and now, finally, it looks like we are moving towards him and Priest vs. Miz and Morrison at 'Mania. If WWE needs a warm-up match between now and then, a quick win over Elias and Ryker will fit the bill.
