Lex Luger's face in the above image tells the story of the bizarre life he'd been forced to lead since slamming Yokozuna on a boat the prior July.

Those eyes pointing towards Mr Perfect - the guest referee that was about to cheat him out of a guaranteed WWE Championship win - are as exasperated as he'd looked since the prior July, but the fact it had taken him that long to truly emote in the role was partially why he was no longer Vince McMahon's chosen one.

The cheap finish here concluded Luger's main event run to clear the path for Bret Hart, but Perfect's post-WrestleMania walk-out took away any chance of further redemption. This, more than a Madison Square Garden burial, was the final nail in his topline coffin.
