7 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (Nov 24)

2. King's Cumbersome Squash

KiLynn King Rache Chanel
AEW

KiLynn King is clearly somebody AEW is interested in developing, given that she is now being booked on the winning side of these matches, but Rache Chanel has had several rough Dark matches in the past and this was another.

Undermined by a number of clunky exchanges, the bout saw King use her superior size to good use, particularly when working holds. Regardless, there were times when you could see the gears moving here. This was particularly problematic during Chanel's fleeting offensive phases. Elsewhere, her character work felt forced and disruptive, hindering King's rub.

King would benefit from more squashes like this, but the opposition has to bring it as well.
