7 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Fyter Fest 2021 Night 2
3. Elite Hunted
A wonderfully fired up Frankie Kazarian started his match with Doc Gallows hard and fast, as he has done throughout the entirety of his Elite Hunter run, but was undermined by a WWE-style booking decision that saw a Karl Anderson interference lead to Gallows inexplicably picking up the win over the hot babyface.
That the crowd didn't sound particularly invested in Gallows (or the action itself) undermined any heat the bookers may have hoped to gain from this. Rather than conjuring building-rumbling jeers for those dastardly Good Brothers, AEW succeeded only in making Kaz look weak when he needed to look strong.
This was no different to Keith Lee and Karrion Kross jobbing out on Raw this week. A wrestler who needed to win lost. Now, having fallen to one of the lowest wrestlers on the Elite totem pole, Kazarian may as well go back to Hunting school
