7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2017

3. Charlotte Cruises Through Alexa

There was a real risk of Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss turning into a dangerous botchfest last night. There has always been a haphazard element to the former's work, despite her positive qualities, and Bliss has exhibited poor chemistry with some of the best workers in the company - Becky Lynch, most notably.

This could've been a disastrous cocktail, but while the duo were successful in keeping the match on the rails, it still didn't meet its billing as a first-time champion vs. champion clash.

Charlotte and Alexa worked at a house show-esque pace, keeping things pedestrian throughout the first ten minutes, before opening up towards the end. Flair's sit-out powerbomb ushered in a strong final third that saw Bliss blow several notable opportunities to win, before her opponent blasted her with a big boot, then tapped her out with Figure Eight. A solid conclusion, but the match went on way too long, and the action wasn't consistent enough to compensate.
