6. Miz & Corbin Exceed Expectations

While The Miz vs. Baron Corbin wasn't a clash for the ages, the duo produced a tight, compelling bout that was a lot better than it should've been.

They went less than 10 minutes, and there was a solid story throughout, with Miz desperately fighting from beneath to protect his family's honour against a malevolent bully. It didn't work out, and 'The A-Lister' fell, but he deserves major credit for working his backside off. Miz was fiery and energetic, and did everything in his power to drag something enjoyable from Corbin, who usually works with the fluidity of a broken action figure. A loss in one column, but a triumph in another.

'The Lone Wolf' was in solid form by his standards, too. He hammed it up by goading Maryse and going after the Miztourage, which gifted multiple openings to his opponent, but not enough to cost Corbin the match. As odd as it is that WWE are giving him this push after spending most of the summer trying to cool him off, it'll be interesting to see how Baron maintains this moment on SmackDown.
