7 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite: Thanksgiving (24 Nov)

6. Friends Like These

Bobby Fish Adam Cole

AEW referencing Brandon Cutler behind the lens is an overly cute way of trying to get away with a style of segment they said they wouldn't do often back when the promotion was launched in 2019. Adam Cole did it twice, here, as he and Bobby Fish were interrupted by Best Friends in what was ostensibly a hidden camera bit.

A weak one, too.

Fish looked like a wet wipe for budding up with Cole after Adam transparently used Christian Cage's arrival at ringside to bail on last week's Rampage match, leaving Fish to take the pinfall. Entering a storyline, whether short-term or long, over who the real best friends in AEW are may as well have come straight from a Stamford scriptwriter's pen, too, with the light, jokey verbiage doing nothing to inspire interest.
