7 Ups & 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jan 22)

5. ... And Neither Did This

Speaking of pointless, Kayla Braxton interviewed The New Day towards the end of the night, with the trio doing nothing but repeating old points, reiterating that "when one of us wins the Rumble, we all win the Rumble." Best check the rules on that, lads.

They ran through their usual shtick, bantering each other off along the way. A random Tony Chimel cameo saw the ring announcer try to squeeze his way into the interview, only to be sent packing by the popular trio, and Kofi Kingston told Braxton he had a plan. No details were divulged, and we closed with Byron Saxton gushing over the prospect of the power of positivity gracing the WrestleMania 35 main event.

New Day die-hards probably enjoyed this, but much like the Fabulous Truth/Charlotte Flair segment, it accomplished little. Does anyone really feel more excited about the Rumble after consuming these two farty interludes?
