7 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (10 Jan)

1. Brock, Lashley Kickstart Dream Feud

Who would have thought that the first in-ring interaction between Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar would be dominated not by their gifted mouthpieces – MVP and Paul Heyman, respectively – duking it out, but by the two behemoths themselves?

That bit of a swerve was enough to really juice this opening segment, as Lashley and Lesnar traded barbs, with Bobby accusing Brock of running from him for 20 years, and the Beast saying he had no idea who the All Mighty was. Throw in a “Bobby who?” knock-knock joke from Brock and you’ve truly seen it all.

The beauty of this is that the fans were hot for the whole thing, and they didn’t even break out the heavy artillery in Heyman or MVP… and they have two more Raw episodes to let the managers unleash on each other.

Great opening segment to set the tone and establish the lay of the land for this feud. It’s almost a shame this is for the Royal Rumble and not WrestleMania.
