7 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 14)

Ups...

7. Stepping Up

Credit where credit's due: Lacey Evans has done a good job of stepping her game up throughout the Becky Lynch feud, though seeing her cut a SmackDown promo for her Raw Women's Title bout was odd.

'The Sassy Southern Belle' isn't a performer on Lynch or Charlotte Flair's level yet, but she's doing good work. Her vocal delivery is stronger than most. She came off well in last night's brief backstage promo that saw her trash the Charlotte vs. Becky rematch, before touching on her own bout, and while the scripting was rote, Evans made it work.

It's hard to know what to expect when Lacey steps into the ring with 'The Man.' Her first big main roster showcase (the Royal Rumble) showed a performer in way over her head, but Evans has improved since then. Let's hope she knocks it out of the park.
