7 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (Sept 13)

Downs…

7. Short, But Still Awful

Eva Marie Doudrop

Someone is going to have to explain the point and purpose behind the Eva Marie/Doudrop relationship/breakup here.

The odd couple had friction almost immediately, never really gelled at any time, and fell apart in just a couple of short months. Then the blowoff match was embarrassingly bad. The only good thing you can say about it is that it was short, and the right person won.

But really, what mileage does Doudrop get out of this? She emerges with a horrible ring name, terrible entrance music, and the baggage of debuting as Eva Marie’s lackey for no reason. Eva, on the other hand, looks completely ineffective and has no real prospects going forward, unless she’s going to recruit a giant heel from NXT to back her up or side with Nia Jax.

It’ll be interesting to see if WWE can salvage this, or if they just hit the “reset” button for one or both of them.
