7 Ups & 9 Downs From AEW Dark (Oct 20)

1. Brandi Rhodes vs. KiLynn King

KiLynn King Brandi Rhodes
AEW

Brandi Rhodes' new role as a Dark regular is perfect for her as she seems to earnestly want to improve and is, by all accounts, a very hard worker and great behind the scenes. This is the kind of thing Dark should be for. Yes, she has partaken in plenty of ineffective angles and storylines since AEW was birthed, but this is a good spot for her.

We're going to get more matches like this one with KiLynn King as we progress, though. This was a relatively mundane outing with lots of clear and obvious feeding and leading going on, leading to sequences that looked choreographed. John Silver and his "JOHNNY HUNGIEE" banner provided a nice mid-match pop, though.

A pump kick scored Brandi the victory. There was no sign of her apparent partner, Red Velvet, or even Tay Conti, both of whom are involved in her Dark Order storyline.
