7 Ups And 1 Down For WWE NXT (Jan 20)
4. Rust Picks The Wrong Battle

Earlier in the night, Tyler Rust managed to secure a match against the colossal Bronson Reed, despite his manage Malcolm Bivens sensing this could be a bad idea. He wasn't the only one.
Right away, Reed used his unmatched power game to gain the advantage in the match, tackling Rust to the outside of the ring in the opening stages. After being told to "outsmart" his adversary by manager/coach Bivens at ringside, however, Rust soon found a way back into the contest by isolating the left elbow of Reed.
This comeback was to be short-lived, though, as Reed eventually powered his way back into the encounter, splatting Rust with a monstrous Tsunami splash for the win.
Though Rust was made to look foolish in picking a fight with a star he clearly wasn't ready for at this moment in time, the result paved the way for a Bivens conversation post-match which could lead to an intriguing narrative going forward. Rust's manager stated that he should let Bivens pick his battles going forward, a decision Rust happily agreed with.
Reed continues to look like a straight-up badass, while the Rust/Bivens dynamic still feels like a compelling enough story, and one we're only just getting started with. Job done.
