Before this week's NXT even had a chance to get under way, Cruiserweight Championship contender Curt Stallion was viciously attacked in (the most dangerous place in all of WWE) the NXT car park by Legado del Fantasma. This meant that Stallion would have to be subbed out of his impending tag match against the dastardly team, with Damien Priest pairing with North American Champion, and his upcoming TakeOver rival, instead.

With the two future opponents, along with the third combustable triple threat element Johnny Gargano (in a commentary role), all present here, you could already sense trouble on the horizon.

Sure enough, with the match well underway and Priest seemingly in full control of Raul Mendoza, a Ghostface-masked assumed associate of Johnny Wrestling distracted the "Archer of Infamy", allowing Santos Escobar to nail him with a dive through the ropes.

This led to a spell of dominance for the heel faction, but the unlikely duo of Priest and Ruff were finally able to seal the victory after the North American Champion opted to bring himself into the contest mid-Reckoning.

However, with the conclusion of the bout being closely followed by the appearance of two more Ghostfaces lurking behind Gargano at the announce desk, could this spell more spooky shenanigans come War Games? Who knows? But in isolation, this short and sweet tag bout did what it said on the tin and offered up a fresh match-up for everyone involved.
