7 Ups And 3 Downs From NXT Stand And Deliver 2023

2. Gallus Boys Put People To Sleep

Does Joe Coffey interfering to save the NXT Tag Team Championship for his Gallus stablemates qualify as a heel turn if they never really were accepted by fans as babyfaces?

Gallus, a group suspended in storyline for assaulting everyone in NXT, at some indeterminate point became de facto faces, though it never really was made clear beyond they weren’t cheating or beating people up indiscriminately. They battled the Creed Brothers and Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in a wild, sloppy brawl that thankfully didn’t overstay its welcome time-wise, but outside of from some impressive spots from the Creeds, it wasn’t that good either.

Joe Coffey’s interference leading to Gallus retaining was met with a collective groan from the crowd, as there clearly is no fan investment in this group, so the “heel turn” didn’t hit in any notable way.

Shorter version: Can we just end this crappy experiment and send Gallus boys to the bottom?
