7 Ups And 3 Downs From NXT TakeOver: New York

1. Best PPV Ever?

It’s going to be really, really hard to top NXT TakeOver: New York, not just this weekend, but in the history of wrestling PPVs.

Consider that the worst match of the show, the NXT Women’s Championship fatal four-way match, wasn’t even a bad match. It just didn’t click really well or wow the crowd. This wasn’t Alicia Fox versus Melina.

Also, consider that each of the other four matches were fantastic title bouts that saw two new champs crowned and over-delivered on match quality. The opening tag title bout was an all-out war, while the North American Championship got a signature bout, and the UK Championship match represented a changing of the guard.

And of course, the NXT Championship match was a fantastic display of crowd manipulation, as fans repeatedly lost their collective minds at all the false finishes.

Just a fantastic show that will be remembered fondly going forward.
